3 Peaks Challenge / Extreme Ironing

Six Synergy members of staff will be embarking on the 3 Peaks Challenge in an attempt to raise £2500 for our 3 chosen charities of the year – PSP, The Blue Cross and Dragonflies.

On June 21st, 4 of our more mentally unstable employees; David Pyle, Simon George, David Field and Neal Blakes along with a support crew of Lucy Derbyshire and Hayley Cadman will be getting into a people carrier and driving to the foothills of the most perilous mountains the UK has to offer. From there the team will be undertaking the 3 Peaks Challenge – all in aid of this years CSR Charities. What’s the 3 peaks challenge I hear you say? Essentially its to climb the 3 highest peaks in Scotland (Ben Nevis – 1344m), England (Scafell Pike – 978m) and Wales (Snowdon – 1085m). That can’t be too hard you say, well the challenge is to do it in 24 hours. That’s right – one single day!!! If this isn’t difficult enough the team are going to be taking an ironing board along and will iron a piece of clothing on each summit.

“We will laugh in the face of danger, scoff at the mere thought of of a crease in the sleeve or a wrinkle in the collar – that’s right we really are that stupid!!!  But its all for a good cause and that’s where we need your help!!” – Simon George

We have set ourselves a challenging target to raise £2500 so we are relying on you to spread the gospel that is ‘Extreme Ironing’ as far & wide as you can. If this is a success who knows what hairbrained scheme we will come up with next year.

Giving is easy – a webpage has been set up and all you need to do is visit it and make a donation.

More information on the team’s timetable and training schedule (hahahaha!!) will follow but in the meantime get involved, promote the madness and get as many people that you know as possible to splash their cash.

A massive thank you on behalf of all the ‘Extreme Ironers’.
