A Hostel Worker is required to join our client in Victoria, London.
The appointed Hostel Worker will be required to fulfil the following duties
- Advising on housing and welfare benefits.
- Demonstrate an understanding of working directly with vulnerable people within a Hostel setting; this can include tenants with drug and alcohol, criminal justice, domestic violence, homelessness issues.
- Participate in the selection of new tenants through interviews and applications.
- Reviewing and enforcing tenancy agreements.
- To provide on-going help and support to residents wishing to enable them to successfully manage their move-on tenancy or ensure tenancies are renewed.
- To assist residents in accessing education, training and employment opportunities and to support them in their placements.
- To prepare residents for independent living by offering advice and support on practical issues such as budgeting.
- IT literate with good verbal and writing skills.
- This role will require you to have flexible working hours as weekend and late shifts are part of the working hours. You may also be required to attend local meetings.
The successful Hostel Worker will have the following skills, experience and abilities
1. Must have at least 2 years hostel experience.
2. Must have a Current Enhanced CRB with no convictions under 12 Months.
3. Must be available to start from April 2010.
4. It is essential that you are able to work late shifts and weekends – please do not apply if you are unavailable for these.
