Vacancy details
City based insurer requires an experienced Risk Consultant to conduct loss prevention (fire) inspections at industrial and commercial premises of prospect or insured clients to evaluate property damage / business interruption exposures for underwriting purposes.
You will propose risk improvements aimed at reducing the frequency and severity of losses and monitor progress to completion. Premises will be with the food, pharmaceutical, electronic, telecoms and retail sectors throughout UK / Eire and in Scandinavia and South Africa and you will be expected to define the risk engineering programme for a client, to include an appropriate budget with the client and underwriter.
Ideally you will be an engineering graduate or engineer with loss control experience
of corporate type industrial risks, having used loss control standards such as LPC,
NFPA, FM etc. Therefore you should have previous experience of deriving loss expectancies
and conducting business interruption studies.
