Making the world a better place starts right here
We all know that we want the world to be a better place – and that we have to take action to protect the environment and the world’s finite resources. Every journey is made up of little steps – and for us, that means behaving in our workplace as we believe others should in theirs.
Cutting down on paper
We’re implementing a positive drive to reduce the amount of paper we use – for example, by using more electronic documents, making greater use of our Web site and replacing the thousands of paper Christmas cards we used to send with electronic ones. It all helps – as does replacing environmentally unfriendly plastic bags with more ecologically sound alternatives.
Looking in unlikely places
As a medium-sized business, we eat a lot of lunches! So, we’ve started a project to look at how we can have lunch delivered – with a minimal amount of packaging. It may not sound like much, but over a week, our hungry staff can generate quite a few sandwich wrappers – so cutting back here can make a real difference.
Recycling – and reducing our carbon footprint
We’re also recycling as much as we can and are undertaking an ongoing environmental audit to assess by how much we can reduce our carbon footprint.
